Proprietary ashwagandha high-potency extract combined with L-theanine.
KSM-66® is the world’s most clinically studied ashwagandha extract. It’s a full spectrum root extract standardized to 5% withanolides, making it the highest concentration full-spectrum extract today.
The power of ashwagandha comes from a complex mixture of constituents – alkaloids, withanolides and saponins – in their natural proportions. KSM-66 is a proprietary extract of ashwagandha that not only keeps this full-spectrum of components, but does so with the highest concentration available.
KSM-66 is standardized to an impressive 5% withanolides from ashwagandha root. The extraction process utilizes the principles of “Green Chemistry” refraining from the use of alcohol or other chemical solvents.
Meet L-theanine. This amino acid has been studied for its effects on stress response, alpha brainwave production and modulating the relaxation neurotransmitter GABA.
Studies show that L-theanine’s calming effects are felt within 30 minutes of taking and last about 8 to 10 hours. One would have to drink 20 to 25 cups of decaffeinated herbal tea to get the same therapeutic effects from just 2 capsules of Adrenal Chill.
A study involving 64 subjects with a history of chronic stress were evaluated for depression, anxiety, and stress after 8 weeks of supplementing with 300 mg capsules of KSM-66® twice daily. The results showed that the KSM66® group, when compared to placebo, had a significant reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression, and a decrease in serum cortisol levels of 27.9%! (1)

Most studies measuring the effectiveness of Ashwagandha for stress, anxiety and insomnia have found decreased cortisol (a stress hormone), anxiety levels and improved sleep quality in 6-8 weeks.
Ashwagandha can be taken in the morning as well as at night as a sleep aid. The best time to take ashwagandha is based on the purpose of the use of Ashwagandha. Please speak to your healthcare provider for further guidance.

No, contrary, Ashwagandha is traditionally used to improve energy level and alleviate stress. It is also known as “indian ginseng” Clinical studies have shown Ashwagandha’s ability to help calm anxiety and also help with improving focus, stamina, and sleep. While Ashwagandha can help relax to help you to get a good night sleep, it will not cause fatigue. Some people may experience drowsiness with Ashwagandha.
When taken in appropriate therapeutic doses, use of Ashwagandha has been regarded as safe for the duration of several months. For long term use, we recommend that you speak to your healthcare provider for proper assessment and guidance.
Ashwagandha may lower blood pressure. In a small study with 51 subjects that suffer from stress-oriented hypertension, a small decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure was noted. Further studies are needed to fully understand the effects of Ashwagandha on blood pressure. If you have hypertension and/or on blood pressure lowering medications, it is recommended that you consult a healthcare practitioner such as a Naturopathic Doctor prior to taking Ashwagandha.
Ashwagandha has been specifically studied for weight management. Subjects taking Ashwagandha in the study saw a 3% reduction in their body weight and 2.9% reduction in their BMI, along with decreased emotional eating behaviours.
In addition, Ashwagandha has the ability to help your body resist stress and lower cortisol levels, which in turn can also support and boost low thyroid function that can result from chronic stress. Individuals who suffer low thyroid function or hypothyroidism will often struggle with losing weight. Ashwagandha was shown to improve thyroid hormone levels (TSH, T3, T4) after 8 weeks.
One of the appealing aspects of L-theanine is that it promotes relaxation without causing sedation. L-theanine works on the brain to promote relaxation and improve sleep through enhancing alpha brain waves, which are associated with a state of “wakeful relaxation.” That’s the same state of mind you experience when meditating.
Our L-Theanine is not derived from green tea. It is synthetic, obtained through a chemical reaction of two other compounds.
L- theanine is recognized as a GRAS (generally recognized as safe) supplement. Health Canada does not limit the duration of use on L-theanine. Long-term toxicity studies in animals also found L-theanine to be non-toxic.
200-250mg per day of L-theanine is the recommended therapeutic dose found to increase alpha brain waves and reduce stress.
